7 codings

Comfort Opening from the KeyHolding the unlock button on the key rolls the windows down. The lock button rolls them back up the same way.ComfortMediumVCDS
Module09 / 46 – Central Electrics or Comfort Module

Steps

  1. Check which control unit handles comfort features on your car: 09 on newer models, 46 on older ones.
  2. Save the original coding before making any changes.
  3. Long coding: enable the comfort-opening bit (and comfort-closing, if you also want that).
  4. After saving, re-teach the window regulators: run them all the way up, then hold the switch for 3 seconds.
NoteThis requires electric windows on both front doors.
Coming Home / Leaving HomeThe low-beam headlights stay on for a while after you get out, and switch on ahead of time when you unlock the car.LightingMediumVCDS
Module09 – Central Electrics

Steps

  1. Connect to the 09 – Central Electrics control unit.
  2. Long coding: enable the Coming Home / Leaving Home function.
  3. Set the duration in the adaptation channels.
  4. Test it in the dark to make sure the lights stay on for exactly as long as you set.
NoteSome of the most basic control units don't support this.
Resetting the Service IntervalAfter an oil change, reset the service reminder and set it to count on a fixed or flexible (LongLife) interval.ServiceEasyVCDS
Module17 – Instrument Cluster

Steps

  1. Connect to the 17 – Instrument Cluster control unit.
  2. In the adaptation menu, find the service interval channels.
  3. Reset the distance travelled and the days to zero.
  4. If you didn't use LongLife oil, switch to a fixed interval.
Enabling the Onboard Computer (MFA)If the cluster supports it but it isn't enabled, coding it in will show fuel consumption, average speed, and range.DashboardAdvancedVCDS
Module17 – Instrument Cluster

Steps

  1. Check the cluster's part number: not every version supports the MFA.
  2. Fit the MFA-capable wiper stalk if you don't already have one.
  3. Connect to the 17 – Instrument Cluster unit and enable MFA in the coding.
  4. Cycle the ignition, then step through the menus using the stalk button.
NoteYou need both: the right cluster and the right wiper stalk. Coding alone isn't enough without the right stalk.
Switching the Odometer Unit (km / miles)Switching the speedometer and odometer between km/h and mph, for example on a car imported from abroad.DashboardEasyVCDSOBDeleven
Module17 – Instrument Cluster

Steps

  1. Connect to the 17 – Instrument Cluster control unit.
  2. In the adaptation menu, find the units/distance channel.
  3. Choose km or mph and save.
  4. Check whether the onboard computer's consumption display switched too (l/100km or mpg).
NoteOn some older control units this is only available as a numeric code, not a named channel.
Adjusting the Comfort Turn-Signal Flash CountChanging how many times the indicator flashes on a brief tap of the stalk (usually 3 by default).ComfortMediumVCDS
Module09 / 46 – Central Electrics or Comfort Module

Steps

  1. Connect to the control unit that handles comfort features (09 or 46, depending on the model).
  2. Open long coding and save the original value first.
  3. Find the bit group for the comfort flash count and set it to the value you want (typically 1–5).
  4. Test both indicator directions to confirm the setting applies equally.
NoteNot every stalk switch and control-unit version supports this fine-tuning.
Cruise Control (GRA) Retrofit – PQ25Wiring up and coding the factory cruise control stalk.RetrofitAdvancedVCDS
Module01 – Engine / 09 – Central Electrics

Steps

  1. 01 – Engine → Login-11 → enter code '11463' to activate
  2. 09 – Central Electrics → Coding → tick Byte 17 Bit 2 (Cruise Control)
